Who says they didn't oppose it? The major media outlets claimed 90% were all for criminalizing private transfers. But the vote was actually quite different than what the media claimed.

Many of the Oregon pro-gun rights folks will ignore the "law" and consider for what it is; just another infringement, do nothing feel good law that the leftist paid millions to install as an incremental required step.

They are telling them to shove it and refuse to comply.

Giving or restoring rights to citizens a 51% vote seems fine but restricting, banning and criminalizing enumerated rights should not be left to mob rule. A 2/3's majority should be the rule and only after a specified duration-discussion allowing a fair debate and not rammed through in the final minutes.

This contemptible process of stripping "inalienable rights" away by the highest bidder will come to no good for our nation or our citizens.

The Founding Fathers chose to make the US a representative republic for a reason. They were well aware of the penchant pure democracies have towards tyranny and mob rule.

Allowing laws to be passed by 'popular vote' (aka mob rule) violates both the spirit and the letter of the Constitution.

If you can't get something done through your reps, vote in new reps. If you still can't get something done with new reps, or vote out the old ones, maybe that should be telling you something about your cause.
