I'd be more concerned about buying a gun from a felon (who had just stolen it) than selling to one.

Meet at or by a police station and ask an officer to run the number, if that is your concern. I would have to bet that dealing here with established members is its own insurance against dealing with felons.

Not any less if you had a bill of sale. You think I can't just write one up? Haven't you ever noticed that most legal documents require a notary?
They need to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt I was at that murder scene.
